Assignment Description:
For this paired assignment, you will participate in a “Cultural Exchange.” Pair up with a classmate and each person will explain a significant cultural tradition or custom from their own or their family’s background to the other. Discuss the meanings, values, or beliefs associated with this tradition or custom, and how it contributes to your personal identity.
After the exchange, you and your partner will create a brief presentation showcasing what you’ve learned about each other’s cultures. This could take the form of a poster, PowerPoint, short video, etc. The presentation should highlight the cultural tradition or custom, its significance, and any similarities or differences you noted between your cultures.

Here are some prompts to guide your cultural exchange:

- How is this tradition or custom usually celebrated or practiced?
- What are the meanings, values, or beliefs associated with this tradition or custom?

- Were there any similarities or differences you noted between your cultures?
And here are some steps for preparing your presentation:
- Introduction: Present the cultural traditions or customs you and your partner discussed.

- Comparison: Discuss any similarities or differences you noted between the traditions or customs.
- Conclusion: Reflect on what you’ve learned from this cultural exchange.

For both self-reporting and partner scoring, assign yourself a grade as follows:
- Grade A: I strongly agree that I/my partner demonstrated this skill effectively.
- Grade C: I somewhat agree that I/my partner demonstrated this skill effectively. There’s room for improvement.
- Grade E: I disagree that I/my partner demonstrated this skill effectively. Significant improvement is needed.
